Restaurant Road Trip: Dairy Kone

News

MONONGAH, W.Va. – The Dairy Kone has been capturing the taste buds of people for more than 50 years.

For Dairy Kone employees, making a customer’s day with a heaping helping of ice cream means creating more than just an ice cream cone.

“I hope customers have an experience that they never had before and all the food is good, the ice cream, everything” said Sandra Parrish, co-owner of Dairy Kone.

The Dairy Kone, located at 654 Pike St., was sold to the Parrish family in 2016.

They are open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Sandra and Lloyd Parrish both remember the building being built as kids and are thankful for the community’s continued support.

The menu features a variety of Daily specials including $12 for 12 hot dogs, the “pick a meal” that comes with fries and a medium drink, rasberry ice cream and the Monongah Monster Sandwich.

“It is 10 ounces of Italian sausage with Oliverio peppers and cheese on a round bun,” Sandra said. “We also have Giovannis on the menu.”
