July is National Ice Cream Month but at Sweet A licious in Buckhannon they know ice cream time is anytime!
“We all eat ice cream a lot, even in the winter, all year round. We aren’t partial,” said Jamie Schiestle, customer.
Michelle Jack and her family opened the shop in October and continue to satisfy the towns sweet tooth.
Michelle said, “It’s really been a life long dream to own a business and an ice cream shop has always been fond to my heart.”
Located on Main Street in Buckhannon, Sweet A licious brings a welcoming atmosphere to the downtown area.
Hauna Schiestle said, “They have lots of ice cream and it’s really cute, colorful, and cheery.”
Jaime added, “It’s very quaint and it’s beautiful and you can just tell there is a lot of care in this store. We like it a lot.”
Sweet A licious is the only shop in the area that offers hand dipped ice cream and specializes in banana splits!
Michelle said, “We have a novelty cabinet where we have items that start at 35 cents up to 2 dollars. We have about 20 different novelties in that cabinet.”
The shop also sells Mountain Roaster Coffee and ice cream cakes.
“We have 16 flavors and we always try to have a sugar free option,” said Michelle.
If ice cream isn’t your thing, the shop offers seasonal specials including chili dogs and chicken salad sandwiches during the Spring and Summer. In the Fall and winter you can find a variety of soups and a baked potato bar.
Michelle said, “We are open 7 days a week. We have a great Facebook page so I encourage people to go like us on Facebook at Sweet A licious. We actually have a contest going on right now so go check our Facebook page and come in!”
