After almost a year of service, The Short Story Brewing has held their ribbon cutting ceremony.
The event celebrated the restaurant’s addition of ‘Street Food Kitchen’ to their cooking side and also celebrated the new partnership with the Marion County Chamber of Commerce.
The restaurant opened in July 2017 and is owned by Mike and Abby Kopischle and Aaron Rote. At first, the group did mainly bar food and IPA draft beers but after partnering with cook Donnie Orr, the business became a full fledged restaurant with both a kitchen and bar side.
The Chamber partners with local businesses to promote their services, but also to show support and welcome them to the community.
“So, were doing a play on all the dishes from around the world from the different street food trucks and things like that with all local Appalachian ingredients,” said Donnie Orr executive chef and owner of Street Food Kitchen.
“They have a brand that they’re creating and they’re doing something a little different that nobody else has done in this area, so we want to promote that and we want to highlight it and were just excited they’re here,” said Tina Shaw, president of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce.
This summer, the chamber will hold three more ribbons cuttings with other local businesses who have joined in the chamber.
