Ritchie County Board of Education held interviews Monday evening to fill their superintendent position.
The board received 22 applications for the position after the old superintendent announced retirements plans.
A total of five finalists were chosen but one accepted a position in
“We’re looking for somebody that will bring a focus on the kids and the staff and community in bringing everyone together,” said Ed Cokeley, board president. “We’d also like to see someone who can help us bring our test scores up and lead us into the future. So we would like to have the position filled with in the next week or two.”
