Superheroes serve pancakes with a purpose

News

The Harrison and Marion County CASA  kicked off it’s week full of superhero events.

The CASA organization held a superhero pancake breakfast at Meagher’s Irish Pub in Bridgeport.

Pancakes were $5 per person with all proceeds going toward CASA, which directly help children in foster care in Harrison County.

Executive director of the Marion and Harrison County CASA organization, Alisha Madia, said this was the first year for this fundraiser, which included superheroes serving pancakes and handing out prizes for the kids.

“We have seen a record number of children entering foster care, so our needs continue to rise and as that rises of course we need more resources, so we increase our fundraising efforts and also to make the community aware of the needs of our children as well,” said Madia.

This fundraiser was a way of kicking off the week leading up to the 6th Annual Superhero 5K on Saturday, April 28.
