Sutton Inn in Clarksburg set to close on July 20

News

The Sutton Inn on Emily Drive in Clarksburg has announced that it is closing its doors on July 20. The hotel posted this announcement to its front doors and officials with the City of Clarksburg said the building will be torn down by a developer.

Joe R. Pyle Complete Auction and Real Estate is auctioning off the contents of the hotel in an online sale.

City Manager Martin Howe said the developer hasn’t made plans for what will go there.

“The city has been working with a developer for that specific location to what its future plans are so the plans will still have to go through a review process then at the correct time, the developer or the city will announce what the project will be,” said Martin Howe, city manager.

Howe added that this project’s purpose is to clear way for future economic development within the corporate limits of the city of Clarksburg.
