West Virginia National Cemetary host Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony


Veterans and civilians came together in camaraderie at the West Virginia National Cemetery for the ‘Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony’. to thank and honor Veterans who have served during the Vietnam War.

During this afternoon’s ceremony veterans from around the area honored the service, sacrifice, and achievements of fellow Armed Force personnel, as a presentation of wreath was done, along with a special message from a local veteran.

“For being in a combat zone to come back and feel the endless hostilities that were going on in that time in our country. So, today is the time to change that. To salute, honor and show the respect that those veterans should’ve had when they did return home and to tell them that we are are grateful for what they did.” said Mike “Boonie” Jarvis.

All Vietnam veterans were pinned during the ceremony with a special lapel pin that included accompanying remarks to reflect the nation’s thanks for their service and sacrifice.
