Its spring time at Canaan Valley Resort in West Virginia’s Potomac Highlands and officials are working hard to make the most of the park with a variety of activities.
“We are more busy in the spring, summer, fall just because the winter is more congested into those several weeks, and the spring, summer, fall is more spread out, and we have a lot of families who just want to get out of the city and breathe some fresh air and get their kids outdoors,” said Director of Sales & Marketing Samantha Haverty.
Although ski season is over, outdoor enthusiasts are ready to enjoy hiking, biking, camping and more.
Conference season has begun and families will be headed to the mountain for the long Memorial Day weekend. Resort officials are working with the Tucker County community to provide a county-full of activity.
“Our goal is to work with the local businesses and activities in the area; it’s a plus to us to be able to use them and refer to them,” said Haverty. “Having the community develop the way that it has, has been an asset.”
Canaan is offering a variety of guided hikes along the many trails throughout the park and nearby Monongahela Forest this summer.
