It is fall festival season in Tucker County and the town of Davis is getting geared up for a full weekend of activities.
The 30th Annual Leaf Peepers Festival kicks off Friday, September 28, with a day full of activities hosted throughout the county to celebrate the vibrant fall leaves. Preparations for the event are in full swing, and officials are looking back at the beginning of the annual festival.
“We are well-known as a fall destination, but when the festival originally started we were not known as a fall destination. Local business owners and restauranteurs decided that they were going to host a small festival to let people know about our fall colors,” said Tucker County CVB Executive Director Jessica Waldo.
Activities will last throughout the weekend and include an array of live music, family-friendly fun, food, and, of course, the beautiful fall leaves.
