U.S. Cellular & Boys and Girls Club celebrate 11th Annual Black History Month Art Contest winners


U.S. Cellular along with The Boys and Girls Club held a celebration at the Mountaineer Club to recognize the winners of the 11th Annual Black History Month Art Contest on Friday.

In the contest, members of the club were to create a piece of artwork in recognition of influtential African-Americans, including business people, athletes, historical figures and celebrities.

The winner of this event was Aoi Ketterman who drew Beyonce. Second place was Summer Canter who drew Rosa Parks.  Third place was Evelyn Hardy who drew Harriet Tubman.

“It actually enables them to not only express their own creativity throughout their drawing, but then they are actually researching you know who stands out to them and who’s important role models to them,” Regional Sales Manager, Teresa Amick.

First place took home $500. Second place took home $200. Third place took home $100.
