Art exhibition open at West Virginia Wesleyan

A local college kicked off its art season for 2018 with a new gallery exhibition Thursday evening.

Kansas City artist Casey Whittier’s exhibition “Something Between You and Me” opened Thursday night at the Sleeth Gallery at West Virginia Wesleyan College.

Whittier is a teacher at the Kansas City Art Institute, and said part of the attraction of exhibiting her work at Wesleyan was the breadth of studies there.

“Knowing that there’s graphic design students here, and students that are studying art, but also students that are studying all different humanities and liberal arts, I think about a lot of that in my practice,” said Whittier.

The opening wrapped up at 6 p.m. Thursday evening, but the show will be in the gallery through February 2.
