B-UHS senior earns nationwide recognition

An area highschool student is being recognized with a nationwide award.

Buckhannon-Upshur High School senior Jayme Lantz has been named one of 100 High School Students America Needs to Know About by Workforce Career Readiness.

Lantz was nominated by teacher Sarah Wamsley and said she’s glad to have the chance to represent the state.

“I feel like it’s representing the state in a good way, because you really only ever hear bad things about the state, and I feel like this is promoting the state and letting them know our education is there and we do have technical education,” said Lantz.

Lantz is the only student in West Virginia named to the list.
