Buckhannon; Upshur County raise concerns over traffic conditions

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – Officials in Upshur County are also asking the state to investigate changing traffic patterns on Corridor H near the city exits.

Both city and county officials want the Division of Highways to study possible alterations at intersections from Hampton Inn to Kesling Mill Road.

Buckhannon Police Chief Matt Gregory said now is the time to look at getting these changes made before traffic gets too heavy through the area.

“Traffic is anticipated to continue to increase, and so certainly another look at the safety aspect of the road itself is in order,” said Gregory.

Studies say traffic through the area is expected to increase by more than 300 percent when Corridor H is finally completed.
