BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – A major festival is back for another year in Upshur County.
The West Virginia Strawberry Festival is in full swing, with rides and parades scheduled all week long in downtown Buckhannon.
The annual event brings almost 100,000 people to the city each year.
City officials said its one of the best opportunities to show off what they have to offer.
“There’s no bigger PR or marketing opportunity in Buckhannon than the Strawberry Festival, absolutely. So, we certainly do all we can to help the association folks pull it off yet again,” said Mayor David McCauley.
