WVWC students packing boxes for troops through Operation Gratitude

Students at West Virginia Wesleyan College are packing supplies for the troops Thursday night.

Students with the Center for Community Engagement are spending time putting together care packages to send to Operation Gratitude.  Organizers have been collecting donations of snacks, books, socks and more from members of the campus community.

College staff members said projects like these help develop the community and the students involved.

“Our students who come up with these projects and ideas, they’re always the best projects because it’s student led, and they can get their peers involved and engaged and develop their leadership skills while we’re at it,” said Jessica Vincent, assistant director of the center.

Students will also hear more about Operation Gratitude from a representative of the group after they finish their 80 packages.
