Wanted Virginia man arrested in Grafton on child sex crimes

A wanted Virginia man was arrested in Taylor County by the U.S. Marshals. 

Joseph Clinton Paige Sr., of Reva, VA was wanted on multiple charges relating to a sexual assault of a minor in June 2018.

Paige was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Grafton after Marshals received information that Paige was staying with family in West Virginia.  Law enforcement said, a vehicle related to the fugitive was spotted near a home on Ross Street, belonging to a family member. Paige was then arrested by the US Marshals Service, with assistance from the Grafton Police Department and Taylor County Sheriff’s Department.

Law enforcement said, Paige sexually assaulted a minor in his care from June 27 through June 29. Paige is charged with sexual battery, sexual abuse of a child in his care, and object sexual penetration. Warrants for his arrest were issued in Madison County, Virginia on July 10.

Paige will be charged as a fugitive from justice in Taylor County, and will have extradition hearings before returning to Virginia.
