The last regulatory permit needed for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline has been granted in West Virginia.
Dominion Energy said the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection has approved an erosion and sediment control permit for the pipeline.
Those permits set out the precautions to be taken when crossing waterways in the state.
Dominion staff said keeping those streams clean is a high priority.
“We cross some pretty nice streams in West Virginia, especially in the mountains, and we’re going to go over and above what we’re required to to make sure that we protect that water body,” said Bob Orndorff, state policy director for Dominion.
Dominion is now waiting on a handful of approvals from Virginia and North Carolina. Construction on the line is expected to begin in early spring.
