The Democrat nominee for U.S. Congress in West Virginia’s First District is Kendra Fershee, of Morgantown.
Fershee will be facing incumbent David McKinley in November for West Virginia’s First District Congressional seat.
The three broad issues she will be focusing on are universal healthcare, legalizing medical marijuana on a federal level and education.
Fershee said in the next five months she expects to put a lot more miles on her car and get out to meet the voters that make up the First Congressional District.
“One of the things that West Virginians need to know is that I am running to serve them. I don’t think they are getting the service that they need from their congressman right now and they need to see me to know that is what my commitment is to them,” Fershee said.
If elected, Fershee will be the first female to represent the First District of West Virginia in Congress.
