According to NationalDayCalendar.com, National West Virginia Day recognizes West Virginia as the last state to be created from one of the original 13 colonies.

West Virginia Day, which is on June 20, is a state holiday which celebrates West Virginia’s 1863 admission to the Union during the Civil War.
