The Mountaineer Food Bank received a big donation from a national church today.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints donated 22 skids of food to the food bank this afternoon.
It’s the fifth year they’ve made the donation of food that is canned by the church.
The Mountaineer Food Bank said donations like these can go a long way to help the families it feeds.
“It’s a really big boost of items that we need a lot of. So going into the fall and the winter months, it’s the right time, it’s the right product, and it’ll be going out to our food pantry network and it’s usually the items they need the most of,” said MFB Director Chad Morrison
Volunteers from a local LDS church also volunteered with the food bank throughout the day.
