A Pocahontas County man is in jail after authorities said he shot another man in the leg.

Authorities responded to a home on 2nd Ave. in Marlinton on April 18 for a reported shooting. When they arrived, the victim told them he was walking to his door when his neighbor Buck Barker told him if unlocked the door he would shoot him.

The victim said he unlocked his own door and Barker shot him with what authorities believe was a buckshot.

Barker has been charged with wanton endangerment and remains in jail on $25,000 bond.
