Police identify suspect wanted after pursuit and crash

UPDATE (4/20/18 5 a.m.):

The South Charleston Police Department identified a suspect in Thursday’s pursuit and crash.

According to SCPD, the driver of the suspect/stolen vehicle was, Dennis Wayne Snyder of Putnam County.

The following warrants were obtained for Snyder:

  • Fleeing with Reckless Indifference
  • Obstructing an officer
  • Transferring and Receiving

This investigation will continue and is ongoing.

Two suspects have fled on foot following a pursuit in Kanawha County.

The pursuit was initiated around 2:40 a.m. on Roxalana Road.

The short pursuit ended on Roxalana Road at Circle Drive, where the driver crashed the vehicle into a pole.

As a result of the crash, dispatchers say that the pole fell onto the car and caught fire. The suspects were able to get out of the vehicle and flee the scene.

No officers were injured as a result of the incident.

Approximately 100 customers were without power as a result of the crash. Power restoration is expected to be restored around 9 a.m.

Dunbar Police, Dunbar Fire, Kanawha County EMS, Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
