A West Virginia man is recovering from his injuries after four people beat him with a shovel and then robbed him, according to law enforcement.

Catherine J. Brewer and Gavin M. Doss are in jail and charged with armed robbery.

Troopers said they responded to a home on Morgan Hollow Road on Sunday, January 28 for an armed robbery.  There, troopers said they found the victim who had severe injuries to his head and had to be transported to the hospital.

The victim told officers he was planning to hang out with the suspects when they attacked him with a shovel and robbed him.

On Tuesday, January 30, officers said they found Doss and Brewer at a home in Rupert. Brewer reportedly told officers her plan was to meet with the victim to buy suboxone and allegedly admitted to setting the victim up.

Brewer and Doss are being held at the Southern Regional Jail on a $30,000.
