There’s a killer whale of a sale going on in Bridgeport.
People from all over waited for doors to open at Bridgeport United Methodist’s ‘Whale of Sale’ starting early Thursday morning. The large yard sale began as a way for the church to raise money for mission events. The United Methodist women of the church organize the sale and said that it raises around $20,000 every year.
“We have everything but the kitchen sink and some years we have had the kitchen sink so people just bring everything. There are lots of clothes, dishes, and housewares,” said Marlen Waters.
The money raised from the sale supports multiple groups in the community like the Salvation Army and Challenger League, among many others. The sale continues until Tuesday morning.
