Results come in for Bridgeport municipal election

Bridgeport, W.Va. – The city of Bridgeport held its 2021 municipal election on Tuesday evening.

On the ballot, four candidates ran for three city council spots. Here are the results:

Winners:

Jon Griffith – 482 votes

John Wilson – 399 votes

Jason Campbell – 305 votes

Other vote totals

Barry Balon – 275 votes

“The current city council has done a tremendous job in Bridgeport. We’re very financially sound, very progressive, and we want to continue that. My goal is to continue to grow the city but in a responsible way.”

In addition, the mayoral position was run unopposed. Andy Lang won with 580 votes.

Canvassing for the election is set for Tuesday, June 15.
