The West Virginia Division of Highways has announced a lane closure on I-79 both northbound and southbound lanes at the Whiteday Creek Bridge (mile post 142.37) on the Marion County/Monongalia County line.

This lane closure will begin on Friday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m. and last until Monday, August 27 at 6:00 a.m. The lane closure will last 24 hours a day during this time period.

One lane will be closed in both the northbound and southbound lanes. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.

The purpose for this lane closure is for crews to perform rehabilitation work on the Whiteday Creek Bridge.

The Division of Highways advises drivers to expect delays and encourages them to find alternate routes if possible.
