The West Virginia Division of Highways has announced that there will be a road closure on US Route 50 westbound near the Downtown Salem Exit.
This road closure began on Tuesday, September 13 at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude at 6:00 p.m. on the same day.
The Downtown Salem Exit (westbound) will remain open. Both Route 50 westbound lanes will be closed. Route 50 eastbound lane will remain open.
The Downtown Salem Exit will be open to detour traffic. Due to the exit ramp lane having a restriction of 16 feet, all super/wide load traffic will not be permitted to utilize the Downtown Salem Exit to detour through Salem.
The reason for this road closure is deck repair on Route 50 westbound lanes.
Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances could change this project schedule. The DOH advises drivers to plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute.
