Fairmont State’s, Mackenzie Harrison has become just the second player in NCAA Division II history to reach 700 kills in a single season.  Her stellar senior year season allowed her to capture the 2017 D2CCA Ron Lenz National Player of the year.

Over Harrison’s 4 years as a Fighting Falcon, she has earned four-time All-MEC player of the week eight times, but won’t take the credit for herself. Harrison says, “I don’t think I have transformed the program at all, I think as a team and as a culture, we have transformed it together.

A modest and humble Harrison, reached a highpoint in her college career by capturing 91 kills in just 3 matches, putting her closer to most career kills.

Coach Courtney Materazzi says, “Harrison has sold this program so well to so many recruits, we are really going to miss her, but whatever corporation or company that gets her, will be very lucky.”

The Fairmont State women’s volleyball team looks to build off of this successful season into 2018.
