The 14th annual Run to Read Half Marathon was held Saturday at Prickett’s Fort State Park.
All proceeds from this race will benefit the Literacy Volunteers of Marion County.
This group provides free tutoring to adults and children in basic reading, math, English as a second language and GED preparation.
“This is awesome. This is one of the first year’s that we’ve had such great weather that’s cooperated for once. A lot of turn out for runners which we greatly appreciate. The community has turned out as the volunteers as well. We’re just very grateful, very blessed this year,” said Chris Ruberto, volunteer.
Organizers say hundreds signed up for the race this year.
