Firefighters work to extinguish brush fire in Preston Co.

KINGWOOD, W.Va. – The Kingwood Volunteer Fire Dept. spent hours working to put out a brush fire that spread for several acres across a hillside.

According to the department’s Facebook page, firefighters were dispatched at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday to a brush fire in the area of the Briery Mountains east of Kingwood.

It took crews nearly five hours ro extinguish the blaze.

Albright Volunteer Fire Dept. was also on hand to assist.

Ultimately, around seven acres of land were burned.

No injuries have been reported, as of now.
