A community coming together, that was scene at the fundraiser at the Bruceton Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department. The event was held in honor of the families of four
“When the boys were in the accident, it happened back in February, and immediately you know that there was going to be medical expenses and stuff associated. Some of our friends got together and decided they wanted to do something. I think then it grew.” said Tammy Bishoff, mother of Bradyen.
A group of community members formed a committee to organize the event.
“This is so much bigger than we expected,” Mandy Hall, committee members.
“We had so many people that have just made, you know, they’ll hand us money,” Stacey Snare committee members.
“Everyone’s definition of community is different and I think that its important to note that there’s three states, we have all these donations from three states and as far south as Huntington, West Virginia,” said Hall.
This fundraiser has many events going on to give back, including purchasing a Bruceton t-shirt.
Brayden Bishoff was killed in the accident, his organs were donated to those in need.
“So if anyone comes and they want to sign up to be a organ donors, she’s here to do that and we did that in honor of Brayden as well since they did donate he’s organs,” said Hall.
Two of those students have made a full recovery, while the other is still attending rehab. The families of the boys will receive all donations to cover and expenses related to the accident.
“All four boys were so close and I loved all four of them like they were my kids so its hard to get through everything but its so overwhelming and so humbling that people will be so selfless and give to us,” said Tammy Bishoff.
