A Harrison County man appeared in magistrate court Wednesday morning to face charges of distribution and possession of child pornography.
Police issued a warrant for 37-year-old James Kern of Clarksburg after a federal agency conducted an undercover investigation of his IP address in April 2018.
Investigators found 83 images of child pornography had been downloaded from a computer using that IP address.
Bridgeport Police said Kerns admitted to being in possession of child pornography during the timeframe of the investigation. Magistrate Keith Marple granted Kern a continuance as he seeks legal counsel.
The investigation was conducted through the WV State Police ICAC task force, which found a total of 85 images.
Distribution and possession of child pornography is a felony.
