The town of Jane Lew held its annual Christmas Parade Sunday evening.

The parade has been held annually on the Sunday after Thanksgiving for the last 27 years.

Officials were thrilled with the turnout of this year’s edition of the parade, saying participants and spectators were showing up almost two hours before the start.

One reason for a renewed excitement about it could be a slight change in who’s actually in the parade.

“Now we have a lot more organizations and groups that are in it. and i like that. it’s more community spirit that way. it shows that the town is really involved. and it lets the kids. there are a bunch of kids on these floats.,” said Jane Lew Mayor Ruth Straley.
