Meadowbrook Mall holds special Easter event for special needs children

The Easter Bunny made a stop at the Meadowbrook mall in Bridgeport on Saturday morning for a special sensory pictures event.

This was designed especially for children with special needs and used low lighting and less noise to help them feel more comfortable. The mall also set up activities to help provide a calmer atmosphere. Organizers say they hope events like these create a more inclusive environment within our community.

“A community needs to pull together. there’s a lot of, we get a lot of slack because, you know, as a community they don’t cater to the special needs. we want to make them sure that they feel that love and attention,” said organizer Marlene Shelton, who spent the morning playing with children and setting up pictures.

The Meadowbrook Mall continues to have Easter Bunny pictures taken daily in Marshall’s Court through the month of April. For more information, visit
