Mountain State Brewing Company and Morgantown Cupcakerie support local non-profit

On Saturday, Mountain State Brewing Company in Morgantown kicked off St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with a Craft Beer Festival benefiting Empty Bowls Monongalia.

This is the second year both the Morgantown Cupcakerie and Mountain State Brewing Company paired together the idea of sweet treats and cold brews to support the local non-profit. This year’s event menu featured eight cupcake flavors and eight craft beers.

“Empty Bowls helps with hunger in the community and that is something that we’re all passionate about. We work with food a lot, so it means a lot of us to see other people in the community benefit from what we can do. And of course, Empty Bowls helps a lot of other organizations in the county as well.” said Anna Carrier, Co-owner of the Morgantown Cupcakerie.

Because of the growing number of attendees Mountain State split the event into two sessions. There were many family friendly activities going on and some live music.

“My husband actually works in food insecurity, so it is near and dear to my heart. So, for Mountain State to be able to step out and help people who are hungry, it’s great, it’s one of our favorite causes each year,” said Brittany Gross, Manager at Mountain State Brewing Company.

Tickets for the event ranged from $40 to $10 depending on age and preferences.
