Marion County saw multiple vehicle accidents Saturday that sent several people to the hospital, and kept traffic at a standstill.

One of those accidents involved firefighters with the Winfield Fire Dept. who were responding to a car fire on I-79 north, a few miles south of the Goshen Rd. exit.

According to Marion County dispatch, as the crew was responding to the scene, their truck rolled over near Prickett’s Fort Rd.

Two firefighters were sent to Fairmont Regional Medical Center with what’s said to be minor injuries.

Shortly after that accident, Marion County dispatch also confirmed a three vehicle accident involving a motorcycle that occurred at around noon on I-79 south, near mile marker 132.

Officials say one person in that accident was air-lifted to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

No word yet on that person’s condition.

Both of those scenes are clear.
