Members of the North View United Methodist Church hosted a live nativity Sunday night on North 20th Street.

This is the first year the church hosted the live nativity, church members said they wanted to bring the spirit of Christmas to life and remind people the true meaning of the season. Church members also said the nativity brings the community together providing a peace and a calm atmosphere.

“A live nativity for us is that, we’re out here and we’re spreading the gospel, and that is our main purpose. In the gospel God says ‘go out and share with all creation the good news’ well there is not better news than this,” said Meaghan Clark, member of North View United Methodist Church.

Attendees were able to get free hot chocolate and homemade cookies while enjoying the sights of the live nativity. United Methodist Church says next year they are already planning for a bigger and better live nativity.
