Local art and food were front and center as community Community members gave back in Preston County Saturday night.

The Preston County Community Arts Center hosted a Silent Art Auction the featured over 20 local artists.

Non-perishable food was accepted as admission for entry, once inside guests could bid on local artwork and eat food made with state ingredients.

All funds from the event went to benefit Food for Preston County, and the School Stores of Preston County.

“We hope that this event will help enrich the community, giving people something to do, that’s family friendly. It also gives a lot of local artisans a place to show their work, for the community to see them and it’s a fun way to donate, its more than just bringing a can of soup.” Aldona Bird, coordinator at School Stores of Preston County.

At the end of the night, artwork was sent out to the highest bidder.
