Triple S Harley-Davidson held its annual Chili Cook-Off Saturday afternoon.
This year’s cook-off featured 24 different types of chili.
Chili entry fees, and admission fees, were helping raise money for Empty Bowls Monongalia, which helps bring public awareness to hunger in the community.
Last year’s event raised $2,500, and officials say they were hoping to match, if not exceed, that amount this year, while expecting over 300 people to come taste the chilis along with the celebrity judges.
“I am looking for flavor first, and then a little taste. The aroma, and the texture. Yeah, it’s a combo. .. Oh man, that is smooth, flavorful, that’s really good. That’s very tasty. That’s really good,” said Chris Chaos, a celebrity judge as he was tasting one of the chilis entered in the contest.
Some of the chilis were on the spicier side, while other weren’t quite as hot.
And, of course, there weren’t any unhappy faces with all that chili to go around.
