MORGANTOWN W.Va. – WVU Office of Sustainability and the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties filled the east gate area of Milan Puskar Stadium Saturday morning for the 15th Annual Blue and Gold Mine Sale.
Collections at the event ranged from clothes, small appliances, furniture, and other items from WVU students moving out of dorms and apartments for the summer.
“The goal is to keep as much stuff out of the landfill as possible. So anything that comes in we try to put a price on it and get it sold. All of that money goes into WVU’s campaign for United Way, so that money goes right back into the community,” said Servando Arredondo, engagement manager for United Way of Mon and Preston Counties.
