UPDATE: (4/8/19):

Harrison County Sherriff’s Deputies have arrested a Clarksburg man in connection with a trailer fire that took place on Friday afternoon.

Deputies said a woman inside of the mobile home told them that she saw George Taylor, 60, of Clarksburg, outside in the back of the trailer.

According to deputies, Taylor was then seen setting a match and throwing it next to a gas can that was between the stairs and skirt of the trailer.

Taylor has been charged with arson, according to court documents.

Fire destroyed a trailer in Harrison County Friday afternoon.

Officials say the fire broke out just before 3:00 p.m. on Clarence Ct. in East View.

According to Anmoore Fire Chief Mark McClain, the fire was put out around 15 minutes after firefighters arrived, but due to the age and condition of the trailer, it’s likely a complete loss.

Harrison County Sheriff Robert Matheney says multiple witnesses saw a man light the structure on fire, and then fled with a gas can before officials arrived on scene.

Authorities are still searching for the individual at this time and the State Fire Marshal’s Office has been notified.

Matheney says deputies also executed a search warrant at this location on Wednesday.
