Harrison County community members volunteered their time during the game to pack bags for a great cause.
Social With A Cause was the first event for the United Way Emerging Leaders and participants packed bags full of blankets, notebooks, and more for area children. Officials said there was a need that needed to be filled and the items chosen are meant to make the court process easier for children.
“We saw a need to be able to get a bag for them, be able to put some things in there. When they are taken and put into the court system or anything along those lines, they have something that they can hold on to and be there’s,” said Volunteer and Allstate Agent Joe Spadafore.
The “Foster Care Comfort Bags” will be sent to children served by the Harrison County CASA Program.
