SOME SHOWERS, POSSIBLE THUNDER: An approaching low-pressure system could provide some showers & possible rumble sof thunder today. Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 70s by the afternoon. Skies will have more cloud cover through the day. Winds will be out of the east a 5 miles per hour. This evening will have a few showers as the system moves through the region. Temperatures will fall into the mid 50s. Some fog will develop in certain areas. Tomorrow there could be a few lingering showers, but temperatures will be seasonable getting into the mid 70s. The skies should be mostly sunny. The weekend will then be the start of a warming trend with mostly sunny skies as high pressure takes over. Saturday has temperatures in the mid to upper 70s in the region. Sunday as October begins we will have temperatures in the upper 70s. Then as we get into the work week there is the potential for some summer-like temperatures. Highs could reach the mid 80s by the end of next week.
