County fairs are the order of the weekend. The Randolph County Fair will be in full swing all weekend long at Camp Pioneer. Livestock shows, carnival rides, a rodeo, tractor pulls and fireworks are just a few of the activities.
Friday-Saturday (Aug. 24- 25):
North Central West Virginia’s largest country music festival, Frontier Days WV, will continue in Shinnston on Friday and Saturday. The festival started on Wednesday and will conclude on Saturday. The 2018 Doddridge County Fair will continue Friday and Saturday at the Doddridge County Park in West Union. The fair kicked off on Tuesday and will conclude on Saturday. The West Virginia Popular Culture and Comic Book Convention, WVPopCon, is being held at the Mylan Park Expo Center in Morgantown on Saturday and Sunday. The convention includes exhibitors, creators and panels on various popular comics, movies, television series, toys, anime, manga and games. The 2018 Mountain Spirit Pow Wow will be held on Friday and Saturday and invites people to come dance and celebrate Native American culture. The 30th Annual Pasta Cook-Off hosted by the West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival will be held on Saturday in Clarksburg. The Pasta Cook-Off will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival will kick off next Friday, August 31. The 2nd Annual Buckhannon Riverfest will take place at the Riverwalk Park in Buckhannon on Saturday.
