Friday – Sunday (Jan. 18 – 20)
Winter Wonder Weekend will be held at North Bend State Park in Cairo from Friday through Sunday. The weekend is all about Monarch butterflies and pollinators, their conservation and importance to the ecosystem all while enjoying winter activities like sleigh riding (weather permitting), winter hikes, tours of local attractions, programs, crafts and entertainment.
Saturday (Jan. 19)
The Clarksburg Farmers Market will be hosting a Winter Wishes January Market at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksburg on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. The market will be selling handmade soaps, bath bombs, lotions, essential oils, luxury pet care items, nutritious microgreens and much more.
The West Virginia Wesleyan Planetarium will be hosting a show titled The Hot and Energetic Universe on Saturday on the second floor of Christopher Hall on the school’s campus. The college hosts planetarium shows every two weeks. The show will begin at 8 p.m. and admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students/seniors and children under 18 enter free when accompanied by an adult.
The West Virginia Mountaineers Men’s Basketball team will host the Kansas Jayhawks at the WVU Coliseum on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. For everything on WVU Men’s Basketball, visit wvillustrated.com.
Gilmer County Girl Scout Troop #10123/32394 will be hosting a Doughnuts 4 Donors, Donate Life information table on Saturday during the Glenville State College Pioneers Women’s and Men’s home basketball games beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Waco Center gymnasium. Attendees can stop by the Girl Scouts’ Doughnuts 4 Donors table to pick up a sweet treat along with information about organ, eye and tissue donation. Sunday (Jan. 20)
Pittsburgh’s largest bridal show, the Bridal Palooza, will return to Morgantown for the second year in a row. Attendees can meet tons of vendors of all categories to help plan their special day. A fashion show sponsored by Coni & Franc and Daniel’s Menswear will be featured at 2 p.m.
