Weekend Outlook

Friday – Saturday (Jan. 25 – 26) 

The Toughman Contest will be held at the Nathan Goff Armory in Clarksburg on Friday and Saturday. The event will begin each evening at 7 p.m. This event will feature several fights featuring different weight classes for men and women, and a pro fight on Saturday night. Tickets will be on sale for $20, $25 and $30. Additional ticket information can be found here.

Canaan Valley Resort will be hosting figure skating performances on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the resort. The performances will be held at the ice-skating rink behind the main lodge. Admission to this event is free. Additional information can be found on the event’s Facebook page

Saturday – Sunday (Jan. 26 – 27)

The Tri-County Collectible Show will be held at the Harrison County Recreational Center in Clarksburg on Saturday and Sunday. This event is hosted by the Alderson Broaddus University Sport Management Student Association. The collectible show will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Attendance is $5 and raffle tickets are sold separately. 

Saturday (Jan. 26)

The Triple S Harley-Davidson Annual Chili Cook-off will be held on Saturday from 12 noon – 3 p.m. at Triple S Harley-Davidson in Morgantown. The registration fee to enter your chili is $10. All proceeds from this event will benefit Empty Bowls Monongalia. 

The West Virginia University Women’s Basketball Team will host Kansas State on Saturday at the WVU Coliseum. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. For everything on the Mountaineers Women’s Basketball Team, visit wvillustrated.com.

The WVU Planetarium will be hosting a free children’s show titled ‘Larry Cat in Space’ on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The event will be held at the planetarium at White Hall on WVU’s downtown campus. The WVU Planetarium hosts free shows for the public every other Friday and one Saturday a month. 

Dardenfest 2019 will be held at Darden’s Mill in Elkins on Saturday from 6:30 – 10 p.m. This event will feature an evening of music and fun. Admission is $10 for adults and children under 12 enter for free. Admission is $5 for students and Americorps. All proceeds from this event will go to ArtsBank, a nonprofit residency program that enriches art education at Randolph County Schools. Sunday (Jan. 27)

The Old Man Winter Market Dinner will be held at Fish Hawk Acres in Buckhannon on Sunday. This event will feature a comforting and savory dinner to help warm up guests during the winter weather. Admission in $35 and seatings will be held at noon and 2:30 p.m.
