Friday (Jan. 4)

Wild & Wonderful Wellness Inc. and the Rambling Root will be hosing the Great Gatsby Winter Fundraiser on Saturday. The party will be held at the Rambling Root in Fairmont on Friday from 6 – 9 p.m. Guests are invited to wear 1920’s and Great Gatsby inspired attire. This fundraising event will feature music, games, a cash raffle and more. Proceeds from this event will benefit the first Wild & Wonderful Wellness Inc. nonprofit Rambling Root Lot Project.

Saturday (Jan. 5)

The Bridgeport Public Library will be hosting a Books and Barks event on Saturday from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the library. Mountaineer Therapy Dogs will be in attendance.  Registration is required, and those interested can register by calling 304-842-8248. 

The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center will host a special showing of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on Saturday from 7 – 9:30 p.m. in Clarksburg. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the movie will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are only $6.50 (taxes and fees included) and can be purchased online anytime or at the box office. 

A New Year’s Yoga Practice event will be held at the West Virginia Botanic Garden in Morgantown on Saturday from 10 – 11:15 a.m. Yoga instructor Heidi Sherwin will lead the practice and hope to set attendees on course for an aspiring and uplifting 2019. To register for this event, click here

Winter Trails Day 2019 will be held at White Grass on 643 Weis Knob Ski Road in Davis on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. This event will feature free lessons, area use and clinic to all first time interested skiers or snowshoers, among other activities. 

The ShakesBEERean 12th Night at Short Story Brewing will be held at the brewing company in Rivesville on Saturday from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Twelfth Night, celebrated on January 5, is a traditional party that marks the 12th and final day of Christmas. This event will feature holiday carols, traditional wassail and an interactive reading of William Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’.

Sunday (Jan. 6)

The West Virginia University Women’s Basketball team will host Texas in its Big 12 home opener on Sunday afternoon at the WVU Coliseum. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. tip-off. For everything on WVU Women’s Basketball, visit wvillustrated.com.
