Saturday – Sunday (March 2 – 3)
The Fairmont Gun Show will be held at the Marion County National Guard Armory this weekend. The show will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event will feature 270 tables.
The Clarksburg History Museum will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 12 – 4 p.m. The museum will feature a Tommy Thomas display this month. The museum will also have new YWCA, Fenton Glass and World War II exhibits.
Friday (March 1)
The Elkins Arts Center Mardi Gras Party will be held on Friday from 6 – 9 p.m. The event will be held in the Great Hall Gallery of the Arts Center and will feature music, dancing and more. Tickets for the event are $30 and all proceeds will benefit the Elkins Art Center, a local nonprofit and community center that provides art classes, concerts and events throughout the year.
Saturday (March 2)
Dancing with our Mountaineer Stars will be held at the WVU Mountainlair on Saturday from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m. Attendees can come watch their favorite Mountaineers Stars compete in a live dance competition. Contestants will receive scores from a panel of judges. A live audience vote will take place at the end of the show.
The West Virginia Wesleyan College Planetarium will host its first public show of March on Saturday at 8 p.m. Saturday’s show is titled “Space Park 360.” The planetarium hosts public shows on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Showtimes last about one hour and admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students/seniors, and are free for children under 18 when accompanied by an adult. More information can be found here.
The 5th Annual Blue Jean Ball will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Camp Muffly dining hall in Morgantown. Guests are invited to dress up in their favorite blue jeans and enjoy local BBQ from Woodburn Shanks with wine and local beer, dance to a live band and bid on silent auction items. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness and funds to support public recreational greenspace in the Mon Valley.
Clarksburg’s Got Talent will be held at the Uptown Event Center in Clarksburg on Saturday. Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m., doors will open at noon and the show will begin at 12:30 p.m. All proceeds from this event will go to support the Progressive Women’s Association. The Helvetia Restoration and Development Organization will be hosting Fasnacht 2019 on Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. Fasnacht is a Swiss pre-lenten festival that will feature a masquerade ball, food and much more. Directions to the event can be found here.
Baby & Me Day will be held at the Meadowbrook Mall on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Vendors will be set up throughout the mall with health, services and product information for mothers and their babies. There will also be drawings for over $2,500 in door prizes.
Sunday (March 3)
Solo pianist George Winston will be performing at the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in Clarksburg on Sunday from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The event will be a food drive and benefit for Clarksburg Mission, so attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation.
