Friday – Sunday (May 17 – 19)

The West Virginia Strawberry Festival will continue this weekend in Buckhannon. The festival began last weekend on May 11, and will conclude on Sunday, May 19. The festival will feature events all weekend long including live music, a carnival, arts and crafts shows and much more. A full schedule of events for each day can be found here.

The 20th Annual Great U.S. Route 50 Yard Sale will be held this weekend Friday through Sunday. This event started in 2000 and hopes to grow to a coast-to-coast event across U.S. Route 50 each year on the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend. The event also aims to promote tourism along Route 50. The event is non-sponsored and will feature various vendors all along Route 50. 

Friday – Saturday (May 17 – 18)

Domefest will be held at Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown this weekend. The music festival began on Thursday and will conclude on Sunday. The festival will feature bands such as Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Aqueous, Magic Beanz, Litz and more. Tickets can be purchased here. The full lineup can be found here.

The WVU Mountaineers Baseball Team will host George Washington in the final two games of a three game home series against George Washington University on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game will begin at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday’s game will begin at 2 p.m. For everything in WVU baseball, visit wvillustrated.com.

Saturday – Sunday (May 18 – 19)

The High Ground Brewing Grand Opening Weekend event will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the brewery in Terra Alta. The event will begin at noon on both days. Nine house brewed beers will be on tap and food trucks will be on scene.

Friday (May 17)

The Morgantown Spring Arts Walk will be held on Friday from 6 – 9 p.m. The event will feature art pieces by known and unknown artists, as well as live entertainment.

Saturday (May 18)

The Cairo Jamboree will be held on Saturday at the community building behind the Cairo Town Hall. This event will feature country, gospel, bluegrass and folk music. The event will begin at 5 p.m. and conclude when the last group finishes. For more information on this event, you can call 304-349-4502.

The 2nd Annual Elkins River Day will be held at Revelle’s River Resort in Bowden on Saturday. The event is hosted by Generation Randolph and will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The 3rd Annual Child Abuse Awareness 100 Mile Ride will be held at Triple S Harley-Davidson in Morgantown on Saturday. The event will be held from 10 a.m. – noon. The event is an approximately 100-mile ride through north central West Virginia, ending up at Legion Post 174 in Dellsow.

Gene Vance Jr. Day in Morgantown will be held on Saturday. This event will begin at 9:30 a.m. The event will feature the Spring Freedom 5K and will honor members of the Armed Forces.

WVU Harrison County Master Gardeners are hosting a Spring Clinic and Garden Fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. This event will be held at the Harrison County Parks and Recreation 4-H Center in Clarksburg. The event will offer community members the chance to participate in workshops, browse plant selections, shop the flea market and win raffle prizes.

Morgantown Migratory Bird Day will be held on Saturday at Coopers Rock State Forest. This event is hosted by the Avian Conservation Center of Appalachia and will be held from 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. This event will include a guided bird walk, an educational presentation and more.

The 7th Annual Run for Open Hearts 5K will be held on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Mayor’s Fitness Trail in Clarksburg. To register, click here.

The In Step 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held at City Parks of Clarksburg on Saturday from 9 a.m. – noon. The top three male and female finishers of the race will receive prizes. All proceeds from this event will benefit the In Steppers performing at Walt Disney World in December.

The Middletown Tractor Day of Play will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Middletown Tractor Sales in Fairmont. This event will feature a bounce house, snow cones, a racetrack and more. The Day of Play is paired with Middletown Tractor’s Drive Green event.

BuckhanaCon 2019 will be held at The Event Center at Brushy Fork in Buckhannon on Saturday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. This event includes food, raffles, panels, door prizes, craft beer, cosplayers, contests, performances and more.

Sunday (May 19)

The Bridgeport Farmers Market will hold an opening for its 11th season on Sunday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Charles Pointe. Those in attendance can shop for seasonal produce, farm raised meats, farm fresh eggs, WV honey, baked goods, WV artisans and more.

Coopers Rock will host its second Food Truck Sunday event from noon – 5 p.m. on Sunday at Coopers Rock State Forest. Every third Sunday in October, food trucks will be parked just before the Overlook Parking Lot. This event will benefit the Coopers Rock Foundation as they raise money to improve the Rhododendron Campground.

The 2019 United Technical Center Car Show will be held on Sunday from noon – 3 p.m. The event will feature food, music, vendors, crafts, raffles and more.
