Friday-Sunday (Nov. 23-25) 

The 11th Annual Celebration of Lights will be begin at Morris Park in Fairmont this weekend. Families can drive though 1.3 miles of over 420 beautiful Christmas Lights displays each Friday, Saturday and Sunday from now until December 28. The Celebration of Lights will be open from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. each evening. Additional information can be found here.

Santa’s Workshop will be coming to downtown Elkins this weekend. Dozens of downtown businesses will be hosting a variety of fun holiday activities and craft workshops, ranging from making a bees wax candle, to building a donut snowman. Santa’s Workshop will be held at Elkins Main Street on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Additional information can be found on the event’s Facebook page.

Saturday-Sunday (Nov. 24-25)

The 36th Annual Christmas Craft Show will be held at the National Guard Armory in Belington on Saturday and Sunday. The craft show will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, and from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The 45th Annual Spirit of Christmas in the Mountains will be held at Fort New Salem on Saturday and Sunday. This nationally recognized event celebrates the culture of the Scotch – Irish, English and German settlers in West Virginia with music, food and more. The celebration will be held from 2 – 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, as well  next Saturday, December 1. 

Friday (Nov. 23)

The Weston Christmas Parade will be held in downtown Weston on Friday evening, starting at 6 p.m. The parade will line up at 4 p.m. at the Robert L. Bland Middle School parking lot. The theme for this year’s Christmas Parade is “Christmas Cartoon Characters”.

The West Virginia University Football team will clash with Oklahoma in the final game of the season at Milan Puskar Stadium on Saturday. The game is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. For everything on WVU football, visit wvillustrated.com.

Saturday (Nov. 24)

The Holiday Historic Homes Tour will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in Fairmont. This event is hosted by the Marion County Historical Society, and provides a self-guided tour through beautiful and historic homes in the area. Most homes are decorated for the holidays, and some will have live music and refreshments. To find out how you can get tickets, click here.

The Pricketts Fort Candlelight Christmas Tour will be held at Prickett’s Fort on Saturday from 5 – 8 p.m. This event allows people to see how the holidays were once celebrated during a candlelit tour of the fort and the Job Prickett House. Admission for this event is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors (ages 60+) and $4 for children (ages 6-12). To learn more about Prickett’s Fort, click here

The WVU Men’s Basketball Team will take on Valparaiso on Saturday at the WVU Coliseum. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. For everything on the Mountaineers Men’s Basketball Team, visit wvillustrated.com.

The Short Story Small Business Saturday Holiday Bazaar will be held on Saturday at Short Story Brewing in Rivesville. The taproom of Short Story brewing will be turned over to local small businesses and artisans for a holiday bazaar from noon – 6 p.m. on Saturday. 

The Annual Rambling Root Small Business Saturday Bazaar will be held at the Rambling Root in Fairmont all day on Saturday. The Rambling Root will feature various specials all day long, and local artisans selling handcrafted items from 4 p.m. – midnight. 

Sunday (Nov. 25)

The Jane Lew Christmas Parade will be held in Jane Lew on Saturday. The parade will start at the industrial park and continue through downtown Jane Lew.

The Pricketts Fort Christmas Tour will be held at Pricketts Fort on Sunday from noon – 4:00 p.m. This event will show people how the holidays were celebrated through the years with a tour of the decorated fort and the Job Prickett House.
